THE TREMULOUS DEW AND THE WATCHING WIND

A tiny tremulous drop of dew
At the tip of a dark green leaf.

It wavers.

“ Do I leave or not leave the leaf
For the vast expanse of the green below?
I know the tip of this leaf well-enough
But nothing of the awesome sea of green below.”

The watching wind teases the dew:
“When, being a drop, you can only drop
Why waver and waste your time?”
